Sofia Mota (she/her)

Director of TicAPP, Public Administration Digital Competencies Centre, AMA

Sofia Mota is Director of the Portuguese IT Competences Center for the Public Administration (TicAPP), integrated in the Administrative Modernization Agency (AMA) of Portugal since January 2019. TicAPP’s mission is to support the different governmental areas in their process of digital transformation through human resources specialized in emerging technologies, develop projects that are transversal to the Public Administration, supporting the different entities in the implementation of the digital transformation strategy, while improving the hiring of external services in the areas of ICT with gains of efficiency and effectiveness.

She has a degree on Informatics and Business Management from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisboa. She also attended the Postgraduate Degree in Public Procurement Law and Practice at the Portuguese Catholic University / Faculty of Law.

Throughout her 20-year professional career, she has held a variety of roles related to Information Technology Consulting and Software Engineering, including consulting, project management, program and portfolio management, quality management, knowledge management, account/clients management, and Implementation/Certification of Software Development Processes and Project Management in Consulting companies.

From 2004 to 2018, she joined Glintt, one of the largest technology companies in Portugal, where she was responsible for managing different IT Consulting business units, in the context of Application Development of business and technology solutions, supporting the digital transformation of customers in various industries, including large organizations in the public sector. During this professional career, she was also responsible for obtaining CMMI DEV 3 Certification (Capability maturity model integration for development).
