Pierre-Olivier DesMarchais (he/him)

Senior Strategic Foresight Analyst, Policy Horizons Canada

Pierre-Olivier has a background in Environmental Law. He has been a foresight researcher at Policy Horizons for seven years, focusing on the areas of technology, energy, work, infrastructure and transport, sustainable development, and production methods. He led a team of analysts working on sustainable development during the Canada Beyond 150 program. He presently co-leads the biodigital convergence foresight project, where he explores lab-grown food, gene-edited humans, biosurveillance, and 3D bioprinted human organs. Pierre-Olivier is an avid supporter of telework, having worked all 7 years remotely from Montreal using Christine, his telepresence robot.
